Peter Schwartz has been a results driven procurement specialist with 20+ year record of achievement and demonstrated success while providing leadership and quality results. Most recently, Peter worked with the MBDA Native American center where he assisted Minority owned businesses achieve expansion, finance, bonding, marketing, job growth, domestic/international sales, and assisted with solicitation/ contracts within the private, government and tribal government, in minority and other certifications, and worked with large contractors and corporations to promote partnering and teaming. With State, Federal, City, County, and Tribal entities he worked to promote economic development and job growth with small, and minority business and Arizona tribes. At ADOT, he has served as the Contract Management Specialist, and as a Facilities/Contracts Administrator developing & administering Division contracts and agreements, and compliance.

Isauro "Izzy" Gonzalez, Business Consultant, Finance & Trade
Izzy was born in Tampico, Mexico, but was brought to the United States when he was just a one (1) year old After following the crops from state to state his family settled in Arizona and has been a resident of Arizona for over 50 years.  Isauro “Izzy” Gonzalez in his position at the Center will assist clients with access to capital, and with global business opportunities, with an emphasis on Mexico. Previously, Izzy was the VP Multicultural Market Sales Manager for the state of Arizona and Nevada & Sacramento for U.S Bank. Izzy serves on various Committees. i.e. Past Chairman of the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Board member of the Greater Phoenix Black Chamber of Commerce, Board member of the Glendale Chamber Foundation, Board member of the California Asian Chamber of Commerce, Board member of the Latin Chamber of Commerce in Las Vegas, NV and on the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce SECAB advisory Council.  Izzy brings over 35 years of banking experience, and over twenty years of helping the Minority Business Community.

Kaaren-Lyn Graves, Business Consultant
Kaaren-Lyn Graves is a Business Consultant with the MBDA Business Center in Phoenix. She has proudly served the public and private sectors for over 19 years.  During this time she held leadership positions which leveraged her technical and business writing expertise, effective project management skills, and overall operations management.  Kaaren-Lyn has numerous successes and career highlights; while working for the State of Arizona (Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS)), she developed financial forecasting documents resulting in grants, general funds, and monetary awards ranging from $935 thousand dollars to $4 million dollars.  Kaaren-Lyn has earned degrees in research and development (“R&D”) and communications.  She also has certifications in biomedical research investigators, Native American research, and social & behavioral research investigations.

Alika Kumar, MBA, MIM, Executive Director
Alika has served as the executive director of the MBDA Business Center in Phoenix since 2006. Under her leadership as Director since 2006, the Phoenix MBDA Business Center has facilitated over $435 million in procurement and financial transactions. A Phoenix resident since 1980, Alika knows quite a bit about leveraging local resources. She received her MBA from ASU and an MIM from Thunderbird School of Global Management. Her experience includes consulting for local and international firms, teaching business courses, and has worked for the state and federal governments. Her business experience includes consulting for multinational companies, conducting research and developing competitive business intelligence; analysis of market research; positioning, and negotiation strategy. A mother of three college graduates, when she isn’t busy exhibiting all of her business expertise, Alika practices her passion as a visual artist.
